Q Division Studios

Recording Studio Claim this listing

For over 30 years Q Division Recording Studios have been home to Boston area bands and musicians. Located in Davis Square, Somerville, we’re just minutes away from Boston, walking distance to Cambridge, and a quick jog to Medford, Arlington, and other areas.

We have two unique recording spaces, an incredible and dedicated staff, and a collection of sweet gear and toys, both vintage and modern. Q Division’s recording studios have state of the art Pro Tools rigs (HDX!), AND fantastic old school analog mixing consoles (NEVE!) and tape machines (STUDER!). Studio A’s live room is expansive, and can comfortably fit a really big band for live tracking in comfort and style. Read more about our facilities in our our Studios section.

  • Studio B's main rack is a lovefest of tubes, springs, and super versatile gear. This side of the room is normalled to the converters and can be inserted "in the box" while in the mix position, or on one of the 4 stereo mix busses on the SSL.
  • Studio B's live room is for lovers. And for those super tight and dead 70's drum sounds!
  • Studio A's Control Room - just outside of the left edge of this frame are an Ampex ATR 1/2" mixdown deck and a Studer A827 2" tape machine. Rock and roll sounds great in this room. #studiolife #analog #rock #qdivision
