Lauren Flaherty
Lauren Flaherty (nicknamed the “Southie Chanteuse”) is a singer/songwriter and guitarist from South Boston, Massachusetts. Her music has been played on over 125 television and radio stations including MTV, FOX, Lifetime and UK primetime TV. She has gigged extensively from New England to New York, shared the stage with artists on Sony, Universal and Modular Records and performed as a BMI Songwriter-In-Residence and member of the NY Songwriters Circle. Flaherty taught singing lessons at Club Passim to help fund her self-released recordings while studying at the Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory. Her sound ranges from piano ballads to rock guitar riffs and her voice stretches from delicate to powerful, reflecting her double life in her home studio versus on stage with her power trio.
She is recording a new full length album after four self-releases including You Don’t Know Me (which lead to placements on Lifetime’s Dance Moms and the MTV Movie Awards) and Red Line Blues, the true story of a young woman in a dysfunctional relationship… with the subway.
Her most recent release was the single SHAME, co-written with fellow Boston musician Lydia Marsala Primate of Br1ght Pr1mate, dropped on 6/17.
