The Boston Globe says “Matt York knows what rock ‘n’ roll is supposed to sound like and do: Make you bob your head and pound your fist and forget about everything but the riff, your beer and your bruised heart”. Matt’s new album explores a cross-section of everything from straight-up rock n roll to hints of outlaw country. His album, Boston, Texas, was released earlier this year and was recently named Limelight Magazine’s “Debut Album of the Year”. Matt’s song “I’m Back” also earned him the “New England Country Music Organization’s “2016 Traditional Country Song of the Year” award.

Matt grew up in Foxboro and as a teenager, began playing shows with Boston music legend Rick Berlin and later fronted the indie punk band Wide Iris, Through the years he’s played the stages of CBGB, The Channel, T.T. the Bears, The Rat and several other places that no longer exist. His songs have received airplay on WAAF, WBCN, WFNX and several college stations. His songs have been featured on compilations from as faraway as New Zealand and Australia.
